 | | Consoles to drive Brink development | | posted by Brisk on 03/25 @15:09 | | | | While demoing Brink at Eurogamer Expo, developer Paul Wedgewood commented on the inability for game creators to make triple-A titles for the PC. "About two or three years ago we realised that we really wouldn't survive if we only made PC games, since purely making PC games was incompatible with our goal of making triple-A games."
According to Wedgewood: "You just can't get the publisher budget to ever [use] an orchestra in London, and then go and record at Abbey Road and get the best voice actors if you're only going to release on PC, where there isn't the sales to justify that kind of work," Wedgwood says he was originally a hardcore PC gamer, but grew to like consoles when he started playing on them.
Should we be waiting to welcome another bad console-to-PC port when Brink finally ships?

| | |reply | i completely understand their situation, and perspective. the difference here being that a pc developer is making cross platform, instead of a console game being made, than ported. we'll see how it comes out, i have pretty high hopes
